Pollen forecast for Basel today

Pollen levels in Basel today by trees, grasses and weeds, the forecast for the coming days, and when each plant’s pollen season usually starts and peaks.

Basel has one of Switzerland’s longest pollen records, with data going back to 1982, according to MeteoSwiss. The station represents the slightly lower and milder areas north of the Alps: in Basel the pollen season usually starts a few days earlier than at the other monitoring sites. North of the Alps, hazel pollen levels are high from early February in most years, with alder a few days later, and in Basel the period of high hazel and alder levels has become longer. Birch pollen levels are high from late March to early May, and grass pollen from early or mid-May to mid-July. Ragweed pollen, by contrast, is declining in Basel. Dates shift with the weather each year.
